 istian Church\, 352 E. St. Mary. In addition to performing in the Finnish\
 , Celtic and Scandinavian folk traditions\, they also compose memorable or
 iginal songs. Vellamo combines a rich tradition of Finnish folksong with a
 n appealing modern charm. \nIn Finnish mythology\, Vellamo is the goddess
  of the sea. Based in Kokkola\, on the western coast of Finland\, Pia and
  Joni combine Finnish folksong with an appealing “retro” sensibility\, cre
 ating an exotic and magical acoustic experience. \nRaised in the arctic re
 gion of Lapland\, Pia is Vellamo’s lead singer.  Combining her love and va
 st knowledge of Finnish folk music with the western singer–songwriter trad
 ition\, her exquisite voice evokes creative expression.  Joni Tiala will p
