Registration is underway through October 19 for Winter League Basketball. The Frisco Family YMCA youth basketball league has no tryouts and everyone is welcome. Thanks to the Y's sports philosophy and basketball rules, kids participate in every game and receive equal playing time, regardless of skill level.

Youth Basketball at the Y develops fundamental basketball skills, teaches teamwork and promotes physical activity in a team environment. This indoor basketball league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12.

The season begins December 5 for all ages. Pre-K runs through January 30, the recreation league runs through February 13 and the competitive league runs through February 20. All practices will be during the week at FISD gyms, days and times will be chosen by the coach.

Winter League games will be played on Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Frisco ISD gyms.

There will be a coaches meeting Tuesday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. for Pre-K; Thursday, October 29 at 6 p.m. for the recreation league; and Thursday October 29 at 6:30 for the competitive league. Coaches will be given their rosters at this time and players can expect a call within two days of the meeting.

The cost for Pre-K is $64/session for Y members, $79/session for non-members. Recreation league is $84/session for Y members, $199/session for non-members, and competitive league is $115/session for Y members, $127/session for non-members.
