Patriot PAWS Staff and Trainers Patriot PAWS staff and trainers join graduating veterans and their service dogs for a special luncheon hosted by Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor on Thursday, Nov. 10.

(ROCKWALL, TX – Nov. 14, 2016) Dodie’s Cajun Diner at The Harbor showcased its Veterans Day spirit in a big way by donating lunch to the Patriot PAWS program and its graduating veterans last week. Patriot PAWS trainers and staff, along with four graduating veterans and their service dogs, enjoyed a delicious luncheon hosted by Dodie’s on Thursday, Nov. 10. The luncheon was part of a week full of fun outings culminating in a graduation ceremony for the veterans and their furry companions at the Patriot PAWS facility on Friday, Nov. 11 – Veterans Day.

“We’re very proud to give back to such a wonderful organization in Patriot PAWS which supports our nation’s veterans, and would like to extend our gratitude to all veterans for their service,” said Dodie’s General Manager Dan Keils.

Established in 2006 as an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Patriot PAWS trains and provides service dogs of the highest quality at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities and post-traumatic stress to help restore their physical and emotional independence. Each of the veterans works with all the dogs and Patriot PAWS trainers during the week prior to graduation, and is then formally paired with his new life service companion during Matching Day.
