Get Fit in Frisco

‘The Garage’ at Frisco YMCA opens doors to new fitness opportunities

(FRISCO, TX – June 14, 2017) Construction on Phase 1 of the Frisco YMCA’s expansion project is nearly complete – and beginning June 19 through July 9, members will be able to take advantage of FREE demo classes during a special preview period of The Garage – the Y’s new functional fitness training facility.

The Garage will feature Power Fit classes, which comprises functional group training – the ideal way to increase strength, speed, endurance, and overall fitness.  The classes suit different lifestyles and fitness levels to offer a more personalized approach to group fitness sessions – complete with one-on-one advice, goal setting, access to peak performance coaching, and tailored session planning from the Y’s expert trainers. AND, these classes will be methodically laid out in a way that it is possible to attend classes six days per week.

The Frisco Y’s 2,444 sq. ft. expansion also includes Studio B, a new Group Exercise Studio featuring High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.); a dedicated Cycling Studio; Barre, Yoga, and Pilates classes; Kids Fit, a boot camp focusing on speed and ability training for young athletes ages 9 to 14; and an expanded Free Weight Room.

Grand Opening July 10 | Members Only Sneak Peek June 29

An official Grand Opening of The Garage is set for July 10. Current Y members will be treated to a special Frisco Y Friends and Family Sneak Peek Event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 29. There will be tours, demos, refreshments, give-aways, raffles for personal training, and opportunities to talk one-on-one with personal trainers about your fitness goals and how functional fitness training can help you achieve them.

As a non-profit organization, the YMCA is dependent on individuals and local business to support its facility expansion. While Phase 1 is about to be complete, work continues to identify donors that will support the Y’s mission and its efforts to expand facilities to include an outdoor aquatic center/pool and a full size basketball gymnasium.
