With a full slate of summer programs on tap, the Frisco Family YMCA is kicking into full gear as the countdown to summer begins.

If you are interested in finding out what the Y has to offer this summer but your membership has expired, you’re in luck. Join in May and the YMCA will waive the joiner fee. Group Exercise

Liven up you routine with one of Frisco Family YMCA’s new classes! 

Yoga
Gentle Yoga: a slow paced class focusing on easy stretching, breathing and relaxation adaptable to any health condition.

Vinyasa Yoga: a flowing series of postures designed to develop/mind, body awareness, build strength by using breathing to connect spirit, mind and body.

Dance Fitness
Barre Fusion: blends the philosophy and techniques of ballet, barre work, Pilates, isometric training and yoga. Results are longer, leaner muscles!

Strength and conditioning
Cardio Kick Fusion: Focuses on the whole body by incorporating punches, kicks and other cardio/strength drills.

Personal Training: Introductory Package only $129 for 3 Sessions! Jump start your fitness routine and sign up for a personal one-on-one personal training package for only $129! Certified trainers assess your current physical level and create a custom work-out regiment that is in line with your personal goals.

Summer Camps

Are you wondering what to do with the kiddo's this summer? Whether you are looking for all summer long or a one week experience, overnight camp or day camp, the YMCA has the answer.

Frisco Elementary School-Based Day Camps are for ages 5-12. Camp Kiowa will be held at Curtsinger Elementary, 12450 Jereme Trail. Camp Caddo will be held at Sparks Elementary, 8200 Otis Drive. The camps will run from June 8 through August 7 from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. There will be weekly swimming and field trips plus two snacks per day. Cost is $141 for Y Members and $173 for non-members plus a $50 registration fee. There is a $10 discount for siblings.

Camp on the Ridge is held at the McKinney Family YMCA for ages 5-12 from  June 8 through August 21 from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. There will be weekly swimming, field trips and archery plus two snacks per day. 80% of time will be spent outside. Cost is $143 for Y Members and $163 for non-members plus $50 registration fee. There is a $5 discount for siblings.

Camp Chippewa is held at the Plano Family YMCA for ages 5-12 from June 8 through August 21 from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. There will be weekly swimming, field trips and archery plus two snacks per day. 80% of time will be spent outside. Cost is $145 for Y Members and $175 for non-members plus a $50 registration fee. There is a $5 discount for siblings.

Camp Lobos is held at the Little Elm Rec Center for ages 5-12 from June 8 through August 21 from  7:00 am to 6:30 pm. There will be weekly swimming, field trips and archery plus two snacks per day. 80% of time will be spent outside. Cost is $122 a week plus a $50 registration fee. There is a $5 discount for siblings.

Youth Sports

The Small Fry Basketball Clinic, designed for ages 3 to 5, is a month-long program that includes four Saturday morning sessions (9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.). The focus is on teaching these developing young athletes basic basketball skills. The dates are June 6, 13, 20 and 27.

The cost to participate is $64/Y members; $79/non-members. This includes all four sessions.

Wet Weather / Insect Notice

The wet weather we've had has brought out the mosquitos. It is recommended that parents bring bug spray for their young athletes coming out to the fields. 

Summer Football Clinic

The Frisco Family YMCA will hold a Summer Football Clinic Saturday, June 27. There will be two sessions. Session 1 will be from 8:00 am to 9:30 am for ages 4-6. Session 2 will be from 10:00 am to 11:30 am for ages 7-12.

Livestrong

Did you know that your Frisco Family YMCA offers a 12-week Livestrong Cancer Survivorship Fitness Program? Sessions are led by nationally certified personal trainers who understand post-rehab exercise, nutrition and supportive cancer care. The program is FREE to cancer survivors. There will also be a children's rehabilitation program for cancer survivors. Also provided is a FREE 3-month family membership to the Frisco Family YMCA. 

Program participants meet twice a week for 12 weeks to regain flexibility, mobility, strength, increase energy, and help increase bone density and overall health. Evening sessions are available Monday and Thursday at 6:00 pm.

Parents Night Out

Let the YMCA take care of your little ones while you enjoy an evening on the town or take care of errands. The Frisco Family YMCA is offering Parents Night Out from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm Saturday, May 30.

PNO is open to ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. The kids play games, have adventures, make crafts, watch a movie and more in a safe and fun environment. Drinks and dinner included! Bring a friend along, too - and make it twice as nice!

The cost is $22 (member rate); $18 per additional child. Non-members are welcome, too! The non-member rate is $27, and $23 per additional child.

CPR and Babysitting Classes

The CPR class is a Heartsaver course geared towards the general public and is not for nurses or other people who may need a healthcare provider class. Students will learn basic First Aid and CPR for infants, children and adults. 

Jump ahead of other babysitters in your neighborhood and take the Babysitting Training Class. Girl Scout Troops and youth groups can schedule personal sessions. First Aid and CPR basics will be covered, but not certified.

First Aid and Babysitting classes are held the third Saturday of every month. The next babysitting class will be this Saturday, May 16 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by a First Aid/CPR course from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Private classes are available.
