Brett Packer, YMCA Board Chair, presents Tyler Eavenson with the Y’s “Over the Top” award at the Feb. 23 board meeting.

(ROCKWALL, TX – Feb. 23, 2016) The J.E.R. Chilton YMCA at Rockwall recently recognized its first “Over the Top” award winner, Tyler Eavenson. The “Over the Top” award recognizes a YMCA member, staff member, or volunteer that has shown an attitude of service that goes over and above all expectations.

According to Executive Director Bonnie LaVielle, Tyler is the epitome of the type of individual the award honors.

“Tyler has been working for the Y since June of last year and has really made an impact. LaVielle said. "He tries to make sure that every member’s needs are met, even if it’s running in the hall to open a door, or making sure the locker rooms are extra clean.

“One of the great examples of his “over the top” attitude involves our member Ryan Mack. Tyler happened to notice that Ryan would always comment on the hazelnut coffee when we brewed it and how much he liked it. One day, Tyler noticed Ryan coming in the Y and he hurried over to the coffee bar and started brewing some hazelnut coffee. Ryan went in and started his workout and when the coffee was finished brewing, Tyler surprised Ryan and said, 'Mr. Mack your coffee is ready.'”

LaVielle added, “We are so lucky to have Tyler as one of our great member services team. Thanks, Tyler, for loving our members!”

Folks can submit their votes for the Y’s next “Over the Top” award by emailing LaVielle at blavielle@ymcadallas.org.
