(ROCKWALL, TX – April 26, 2016) The JER Chilton YMCA's Spring Beginner Dance class finished out a successful program with a dance recital on Wednesday, April 20, at the Y. Performing in the “Waltz of the Flowers” Spring Dance Recital 2016 and showing off their elegant dance movements were: Anisa Campbell, Dylan Logan, Isabella Rogers, Kayley Bowen, Nolah Feeley, Sadie Coe, Tatiana Lynch, Megan Stuart, Hayley Bowen, Kairi Rowan, Laila Abundio, Paige Ruby, Stella Byer and Vivienne Buck.

The Rockwall Y’s Beginner Dance program is designed to teach kids ages 3-10 to explore, develop and achieve through art of dance. The program’s instructor, Kylah Henry, has been dancing since she was four years old, and at age 11 was the youngest participant at the Annual Dance Conference at Grambling State University. She continues to study dance as a student at Rockwall High School and Centre for Dance.

“I really enjoy being around the kids, and seeing how they can develop in such a small amount of time,” Kylah said. “A lot of the arts programs don’t get as much attention as I feel that they need to, so to have an outlet here at the Rockwall YMCA is a really great experience, and I hope I get to continue to do it on a bigger scale.”

The Dance program offers six classes for both Creative Movement I (ages 3-6) and Creative Movement II (ages 7-10), followed by a recital during which the kids get to display all they learned to mom and dad. The Rockwall YMCA typically offers its Dance program four times a year – one for each season. For more information contact the Rockwall Y at (972) 772-9622.
