(ROCKWALL, TX – July 7, 2016) Calling all cyclists for family fun and friendly competition at the 2016 Hot Rocks Bike Ride. Registration is underway and sponsorships are available now for the 30th anniversary race, which will roll out at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13 from Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium in Rockwall.

Presented annually by the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club, Hot Rocks has grown in popularity every year, attracting cyclists of all ages and skill levels - from recreational riders and beginning racers to aggressive competitors. Last year more 1,325 cyclists participated, helping to fund more than $30,000 in college scholarships for Rockwall ISD graduating seniors.

New this year are 12, 24, and 42 mile routes and the 100K (62 mile) Red Route, the perfect warm up for the Hotter N’ Hell 100 Race in Wichita Falls. Riders can expect fully stocked rest stops sponsored by local businesses, support along the route from local law enforcement, roving bicycle mechanics providing technical support, and support vehicles patrolling between each rest stop. All entrants will receive a Hot Rocks T-shirt. The top three male and female finishers of the 100k will receive cash awards.

New routes and other improvements are being incorporated to ensure that this year’s event is the best experience yet – offering safe, fun and challenging options for everyone.
