Call for Entries open through Sept. 20

(ROCKWALL, TX – July 25, 2016) Save the date as the Rockwall Art League plans its 16th Annual Fine Art Show on Oct. 14-16 at Rockwall Rotary Hall, 408 S. Goliad St.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

Show hours will be Noon to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 with an Artists Reception and Awards Ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m.; and Noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16.

The call for entries is open until Sept. 20, 2016. Seven categories are eligible for entry: Oil; Acrylic; Water Media: watercolor, gouache; Photography, Drawing: graphite, pastel, pen and ink, colored pencil, charcoal, watercolor pencil; 3-dimensional sculpture (no jewelry); and Mixed media. Entry fee for members is $15 per painting or three paintings for $35; entry fee for non-members is $20 per painting or three paintings for $47. Cash prizes will be awarded in each category: $200 for first place; $100 for second place; as well as $500 for Best of Show. Each artist may enter a total of three pieces.

Take-in for entries at the Rockwall Rotary Club building, 408 S. Goliad St., will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 13. Judging will be the morning of Oct. 14 before the show opens. Artists must pick up artwork from 5 to 6 p.m. Oct. 16.
