JER Chilton YMCA kicks off fall programs, readies for grand opening

With a full slate of fall programs on tap, the JER Chilton YMCA is kicking into full gear as it readies for the grand opening of its newly-remodeled facility in November.

While registration for the Y’s currently ongoing youth fall soccer, football and volleyball programs is closed, parents can still sign their kids up for the winter basketball program. League divisions for the winter youth basketball program include the Small Fry Coed Ages 3-4, girls K-6th grade and Boys K-6th grade. The Y guarantees children 50 percent playing time in each game, regardless of skill or practice attendance.

Practices will be held once a week at local Rockwall ISD facilities and at the discretion of the coaches regarding the day, time and location. Games will be played primarily on Saturday. However, some may be played during the week if there are an uneven number of teams within a division.

Early registration for the youth basketball program is currently underway and ends on Oct. 25. Regular registration begins on Oct. 26 and runs through Nov. 15.

Fathers looking for a creative way to spend some bonding time with their kids need look no further than the Y’s Adventure Guides and Princesses program. Registration is currently underway for the program designed to strengthen the relationship between dads and their children ages K-4th grade through a variety of entertaining activities, such as campouts, pumpkin carving, a father/daughter banquet and dance, and a father/son bowling event.

Other programs currently available for fall signup include swim lessons, swim team, and archery.

For more information regarding registration for any of the afore-mentioned programs, contact the JER Chilton YMCA at 972-772-9622 or visit its website at ymcadallas.org/locations/jerchiltonymca.
