The 2017 Season Of The Marketplace DFW Farmers & Artisan Events Kick-Off On April 1st

Spring is in the air and the outdoor event season has begun. As we seek to take sunshine and fresh air in whilst finding open air events with great community vibes, farmers markets naturally come to mind as the ideal way to spend a Saturday morning.

Two of the areas most popular farmers & artisan markets are gearing up to start their 2017 season. The Marketplace Garland and The Marketplace Mesquite begin in April.

The Marketplace Garland will be launching its 5th season on April 1st and for the many who frequently shop this market, expect to see the local growers, artisan and craftsmen that you love along with some new products to discover. And with the downtown area of Garland continuing to experience strong growth, there are several eateries and shops that you’ll definitely want to check out as well. One notable change to The Marketplace Garland this year is the addition of another date each month. In previous years the market ran solely on 3rd Saturdays, however because of high demand, 1st Saturdays have now also been added to the schedule.

The Marketplace Mesquite will be returning on April 8th to launch its 4th season and will continue to be held in Mesquite’s historic downtown square. This market also started off as merely a once a month event. But after the first year it was apparent that crowds wanted to have additional dates set, so in its second year The Marketplace Mesquite began running on both 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

As with The Marketplace Garland, this year you’ll be able to find favorite vendors including the wildly popular Tamales Over Texas and La Esperanza Farms, as well as new booths that you won’t want to miss.

The city of Mesquite has made many patron friendly improvements to downtown, as the area has been rapidly revitalizing & becoming a highly sought after spot for new businesses. When visiting, take time to enjoy the gazebo area and additional seating that has been put in place. In addition, be sure to check the City of Mesquite calendar for concerts that often take place in the square after The Marketplace.

Both Marketplace DFW locations run April through October from 9 am to 2 pm. And while having morning through mid afternoon to shop the markets is convenient, it’s always best to make your way out early as many items, especially those that shoppers have been eargerly awaiting, tend to sell out quickly.
