Soroptimist International of Rockwall presented Rockwall District Attorney, Kenda Culpepper, the Club's 2016 Ruby Award and a check for the Child Advocacy Center in the amount of $27,250.00. The presentation took place at the Soroptimist's 3rd annual Rockwall Country Fair fundraiser on Saturday, June 4, at the Rockwall County Courthouse.  Kenda Culpepper, as the driving force behind the new Children's Advocacy Center at the Soroptimist House, was honored with the Ruby Award because of her extraordinary work to improve the lives of women and girls through her personal and professional activities. Cindy Lindley, Soroptimist South Central Region Governor and member of SI Rockwall, presented the Ruby Award. This prestigious award has honored women such as US Congresswomen Patsy Mink, Patricia Schroeder, Shirley Temple Black (former child actor and US Ambassador to the United Nations) and Princess Diana (probably the most notable). Following the presentation of the Ruby Award, Norma Morris, President of SI Rockwall, presented the District Attorney with the check for the Child Advocacy Center, the focus of the Rockwall Club's fundraising efforts this year.
