The Jackets faced off against 5A powerhouse Highland Park on Friday night. The night didn’t go as the Jackets imagined as they quickly fell down 22-o to Highland Park. The Jackets rebounded and scored 14 quick points, but turnovers continued to haunt the Jackets as they fell 43-21 to the Scots. The Jackets will look to rebound against cross-lake rival Rowlett on Saturday at the Cotton Bowl. Tickets are still on sell at The game kicks off at 1:30 p.m.

The Hawks didn’t kick off their 2016 season until around 9:45 p.m. on Friday night due to weather. The Hawks held a very powerful Wylie East team in check most the night, but a final last second field goal doomed the Hawks as they fell to the Raiders 24-21. The Hawks have no time to think about that game as they will kick off Thursday at 7:00 p.m. against West Mesquite.
