Dr. Stephen Davis, Assistant Principal of Rockwall High School, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as a Region 10 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year. TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty region Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership. As a Region 10 winner, Dr. Davis is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Assistant Principal of the Year.

Dr. Stephen Davis, an 8-year assistant principal has been a member of the leadership team at Rockwall High School since 2014. He attended Baylor University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Religion. He attended Texas AM at Commerce University and was awarded a Masters and Doctorate of Education in 2007 and 2013, respectively. Dr. Davis sees himself as being a risk taker, a visionary, and leader of learners. He is credited with numerous achievements including increasing the number of students enrolled in rigorous courses, building relationships with RHS students, and promoting data-driven decision making on the campus. Dr. Davis stated, “I am very fortunate to represent Rockwall High School as the Region 10 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year and I appreciate the support of the Rockwall community as we work to help prepare all Yellowjackets for a bright future.”

Each of the region winners will be recognized during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Awards Dinner on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at the Hilton Austin Downtown Hotel. Each will be presented with an award and recognized in a commemorative book entitled Texas Principals, Texas Heroes. The TASSP Summer Workshop will be held June 14-16, 2017, at the Austin Convention Center.
