Rockwall HS Student Receives Proclamation from Mayor of Rockwall

RHS High school student Regan Watson, accompanied by friends and family from Springer Elementary, Billie Stevenson Elementary and CLP Elementary gathered at Rockwall City Hall to witness Regan receive a proclamation from Mayor Jim Pruitt.

The proclamation states that October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month.

Regan, a junior at Rockwall High School was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), a form of Dysautonomia her freshman year.  She went from an active teen, competitive equestrian & honor student, to struggling to get out of bed most days.

“Regan has been given many obstacles,” said Nichole Watson, Regan’s mother.  “She deals with them with a positive attitude & grace.”

With this proclamation, the hope is to raise awareness in hopes of helping others who may be facing this same diagnosis.  There may be students and parents out there who just need to know support is available.
