This past May the Williams Middle School Symphony Orchestra recorded an award winning performance at the Eismann Center in Richardson. It was adjudicated by a panel of judges in the first round of the contest at Klein High School in June. The group was selected to advance to the TMEA Middle School Honor Full Orchestra State Finals on July 23 in San Antonio, Texas.
In the finals, the Williams Middle School Symphony Orchestra’s recording placed 5th overall in the state. Their performance included Finale from Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikowsky/arranged by Meyer, Simple Gifts arranged by Shapiro and Aboriginal Rituals by Del Borgo. Congratulations to the members of the Williams Middle School Symphony Orchestra and their conductors Shari Allison, Steven Saurwein, and Angela Pendleton.
