Two Rockwall ISD Fashion Design students won gold at the national FCCLA meeting in Washington D.C.

Claire McNabb from Rockwall-Heath High School and Jorja West from Rockwall High School won gold metals in the Fashion Design Contest. The students had to create a fashion label, research demographics and retail outlets, design six outfits, make a pattern and sew one design.

In addition to the competition, Ms. McNabb and Ms. West met with Rockwall’s Congressman, John Ratcliffe. The two students shared the benefits of career and technology classes with congressman Ratcliffe.

Jorje, who graduated in June, will be attending college this fall and studying fashion merchandising.
