The Sarver family has three students in Rockwall ISD.  Desiree is a Junior and attends Rockwall High School.  Chris attends Utley Middle School and Joshua is in 2nd grade and attends Doris Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary.

Both Joshua and Chris are autistic and the Sarver family is always looking for different opportunities and experiences for them.  Their dad, John Sarver, heard of a program named “Challenge Air for Kids and Friends.”  The organization holds an annual event for families with students with special needs.  Participants in this program are invited out for the day to a local airport to fly an airplane.

They submitted their application and the Sarver family was selected to participate!

Josh and Chris both had the opportunity to participate and they loved it!  They started out their day by attending “pilot school” and hearing what it would be like once they’re up in the air.

Each one of them got to co-pilot an airplane and they flew all the way to Waxahachie and back to Dallas.  At the end of their exciting day they received a Co-Pilot Certificate for their accomplishment!
