On March 23, the Select Treble choirs from Utley and Williams Middle Schools combined to perform at the UIL Region 3 Concert & Sightreading contests. The ensemble brought together fifty young women from both campuses, all of which are involved in a variety of activities including band, orchestra, athletics, cheer, drill, art, and theater, to perform for judges at Sachse High School. The students performed brilliantly, earning a first division from each judge in both the concert and sightreading portions as well as receiving a Sweepstakes Trophy for their accomplishment. This is Utley’s first Sweepstakes Trophy since 2012 and first at the Varsity performing level. For Williams, it is their first Sweepstakes since 2011.

Donny Behne, the Choir Director at both Williams and Utley Middle School, would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Leia Browning, of Rockwall High School, and Mrs. Nancy Farrell, formerly of Williams Middle School, for their help in preparing the students to perform through rehearsals outside of the school day as well as in the classroom.
