The Rockwall-Heath Highsteppers team, elite team, and officers attended the Marching Auxiliaries Dance Competition in Grapevine on February 13. The Highsteppers team won Top Scoring team of all the teams that competed. They received Super Sweepstakes, high point awards for each routine and also received choreography awards and technique awards for each routine in the kick, pom, and contemporary genres. The elite team also won Super Sweepstakes, high point, choreography awards, and technique awards in each of their entered dances in the hip hop, jazz, and contemporary categories. The Highsteppers officers won Super Sweepstakes, choreography awards in contemporary and jazz and technique awards in contemporary and open. They received 3rd place Winner’s Circle against all other officers.

Soloists also competed at this event and the Highstepper captain, Shawnee, Gillham, was awarded 2nd runner up in the Senior 17 category. JV officers Laura Bender and Marybeth Deren tied for 2nd runner up in the Senior 15 category. We are extremely proud of our Heath Highstepper teams!
