Fifth grade students at Doris Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary have been studying the American Revolution during their Social Studies class with Mrs. Gayle Kidd.  They entered a poster contest with the Sons of the American Revolution. The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit local organization that maintains and expands the meaning of patriotism, respect for our national symbols, the value of American Citizenship, and the unifying force of “e pluribus unum” that was created from the people of many nations—one nation and one people.

For the contest, students had to design a poster about George Washington and his role in the American Revolution.  Each participant received an Honorable Mention certificate and three students received awards. Marcus Stencel received the “Best All Around” for his poster along with $100 prize.  Sloan Stewart and Reaksar Chrun both received an award for “Creativity” along with a $25 prize. We are so proud of our Cullins Cowboys!
