Raise Your Hand Texas sponsors the opportunity for principals from across the state to attend the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Principals’ Center during the summer.  The center offers a variety of professional development programs designed to empower school leaders at all levels of experience and principals at the helm of different types of schools.

Principals apply through a competitive process with Raise Your Hand Texas to attend the weeklong professional development summer courses taught by internationally renowned and published faculty at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, in Cambridge, MA. Principals must be recommended for the program by a direct supervisor and the application process involves essay writing, participating in critical thinking exercises, and group/individual interviews.

We are so proud that three Rockwall principals have been selected by Raise Your Hand Texas to participate at Harvard during the Summer of 2016:  Ruth Johnson, Dobbs Elementary, Lisa Gielow, Nebbie Williams Elementary, and Todd Bradford, Utley Middle School.
