The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is one of the district’s most rigorous and academically challenging college-preparatory course of studies. Students must take English, History of the Americas, Physics, and Mathematics (each of which is a two-year course), Spanish or French 4, and Visual Arts or a second science. In addition, students write a 4,000 word self-directed research paper on their own time, complete 150 Creativity-Activity-Service hours, and complete the requirements of a philosophical class, Theory of Knowledge. Those who earn the IB Diploma are guaranteed a minimum of 24 credit hours at a state college or university.
