Students Earn Prestigious International Baccalaureate Diplomas in Inaugural Year

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is one of the district’s most rigorous and academically challenging college-preparatory course of studies. Students must take English, History of the Americas, Physics, and Mathematics (each of which is a two-year course), Spanish or French 4, and Visual Arts or a second science. In addition, students write a 4,000 word self-directed research paper on their own time, complete 150 Creativity-Activity-Service hours, and complete the requirements of a philosophical class, Theory of Knowledge. Those who earn the IB Diploma are guaranteed a minimum of 24 credit hours at a state college or university.

The graduating class of 2016 was the first in Rockwall ISD to attempt this challenging curriculum. Congratulations to the following students for earning their International Baccalaureate Diploma:
