Rockwall ISD and all campuses achieved the highest rating possible on the 2014 STAAR Accountability system, Met Standard. Rockwall ISD students also continued to score well above the state average in all content areas.

In addition, the District received a Superior rating, the highest possible, on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). This is the 13th consecutive year Rockwall ISD has received a Superior rating.

Rockwall ISD’s Community and Student Engagement rating was Exemplary for the district and all campuses. This new self-assessment is a part of the requirements known as House Bill 5 which was passed during the 2013 state legislative session.

“Rockwall ISD is one of the best school districts in Texas and these results further confirm the excellence of our students and teachers,” said Rockwall ISD Superintendent Jeff Bailey.

Rockwall ISD has also seen improvement in closing the gap between traditionally lower performing student groups and the general student population. “We are seeing strong gains in groups such as economically disadvantaged students and English language learners,” said Chief Academic Officer Dr. Debbie Koehn.

Rockwall ISD schools also received 22 distinctions for their STAAR results. The Texas Education Agency also awards specific distinctions for schools that rank in the top 25% of their peer group. Below is a listing of schools receiving distinctions:

Dobbs Elementary – Reading and Closing the Gap
Hays Elementary – Closing the Gap
Jones Elementary – Science and Student Progress
Reinhardt Elementary – Reading, Student Progress, Closing the Gap, Post-Secondary Readiness
Stevenson Elementary – Closing the Gap
Cain Middle – Math, Science, Social Studies, Student Progress and Post-Secondary Readiness
Utley Middle – Math
Williams Middle – Science
Rockwall High – Social Studies
Rockwall-Heath High – Math, Science, Social Studies and Closing the Gap
