The Rockwall ISD Education Foundation began awarding Innovative Teaching Grants in the Spring of 2004. Since that time, 241 grants have been awarded, involving 692 teachers and more than 58,400 students. The $402,358.22 in approved grants have made an impact at every campus in the Rockwall Independent School District. The Fall 2014 grant cycle consisted of 27 applications, 10 of which were approved for funds totaling $16,728.29. The 10 approved grants were submitted by 23 teachers and will reach 2,253 students at 11 campuses. The Foundation’s Grants Committee reviews each application and approves only those that exemplify a creative, engaging approach while exceeding the core expectation of classroom instruction.
