A wild, wild shootout in Waco, Texas turned in the second half after the Rockwall Yellowjackets executed the fumblerooski thanks to James Taylor on an 18  yard scamper and the Yellowjackets never looked back beating a TOUGH Copperas Cove team 70-42 to move onto the Area Round in the 6A UIL Playoffs.

Rockwall combined for 719 total yards of offense against Copperas Cove.Quarterback Will Reed threw for 357 yards and 4 touchdowns.Xavier Castille and Jay Galloway combined for 4 touchdowns and just under 400 yards of offense as well.

The running game didn’t miss a beat. Chris Warren ran for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns and was backed up by Tamba Juanah and Caleb Broach who both ran for just under 100 yards. Broach had two touchdowns and Juanah had one.

The Jackets are now 11-0 on the 2014 season.

 

The Yellowjackets have advanced to the Area Round for the second straight year. They will face Jesuit the team that eliminated the Yelowjackets in the Area Round last year.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Wylie.
