Fifth grade students at Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary are currently studying about the colonial period in the United States.  They have been working to explain when, where, and why groups of people explored, colonized, and settled in the United States.  In order to understand how people lived during colonial times the students have been participating in various activities.  A common chore for children their age in those days was candle making.  Our students got a first-hand experience with candle making and made their own candles!  It is part of preparing for an upcoming Colonial Night that will be presented by our 5th graders!
