Springer Elementary hosted a family event, “STEAM Night – A Night at the Museum.”  Students created interactive Project Based Learning activities to represent “STEAM” (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) for the community to explore.  Kindergarten displayed objects in the sky during the day, first and second grade “blacked out” their hallway to simulate “objects in the night sky” complete with glowing stars and twinkling lights while viewing information about nocturnal animals.  Third grade presented the solar system, and fourth grade displayed renewable energy and natural resources.  Fifth grade shared innovation with technology and science concepts, while sixth grade showcased forces and motion with roller coaster models in the library.  The evening was topped off with a light snack passed out by Dr. Helmer, our school principal stating, “Thanks for popping by.”
