The students & faculty of J.W. Williams Middle School recently participated in our District wide Students Serving Others (SSO) program by donating over 4,400 cans of food & diapers to Helping Hands. The students were challenged to bring in the most canned goods with Ms. Lauren Weller’s class and Mrs. Dawn Andrew’s class ending in a tie for 1st place for the 7th grade group & Coach Andy Merten’s class earning the bragging rights for the 8th grade class. These students were treated to a “Breakfast Bar” party sponsored by Chiloso’s & IHOP. In addition to the food donation, a $510 cash donation was presented to Helping Hands from proceeds made at their Student/Faculty game.
Special thanks go to Taylor Sher, WMS counselor secretary, for orchestrating the food drive and making it such a great success!Pictured are just some of the many ?WMS students that made this project so successful.
